India has the world's largest youth population, a thriving tech ecosystem, and unique challenges that demand innovative AI solutions. Yet, much of AI development remains concentrated in a few global tech hubs, often solving problems that don't reflect Indian realities.
Bharat AI Alliance was founded to change this. We believe India should not just consume AI but create it—AI that speaks our languages, understands our contexts, and solves our problems.
Our mission is to build an open, inclusive ecosystem where anyone—from a student in a tier-3 city to a researcher at an IIT—can learn, contribute, and shape India's AI future.

In 2023, a group of AI researchers, engineers, and educators came together with a shared frustration: India had incredible AI talent, but it was fragmented across institutions, companies, and geographies with no unified platform to collaborate.
We saw students struggle to find quality AI education in their languages. We saw brilliant researchers working in isolation. We saw startups reinventing the wheel because open resources weren't available. And we saw AI solutions being imported that didn't work for Indian contexts.
So we built Bharat AI Alliance—a community where knowledge flows freely, collaboration happens naturally, and everyone can contribute to building AI that serves India's needs.
Today, we're 10,000+ members strong and growing. Our community has contributed to 500+ open source projects, trained thousands of students, and built AI solutions deployed across healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance.
